With the economy improving, a stronger Mining Sector, a better Agricultural Sector
and an improvement in the road freight sub-sector, the models are showing jobs
growth at a level of 4.3% by November 2011.
Construction and Property
The jobs outlook here is solid but not spectacular, with jobs growing on an annual basis
by 2.4% by November 2011.
Health and Community Services
The outlook continues to be strong in this sector. The number of vacancies remains at
a very high level and the models are forecasting employment growth of 4.7% annually
by the year ended November 2011.
Although the international student sector looks weaker over the next few years,
continued population growth in Australia and the investment in training programs
means that the outlook for this sector is for quite strong growth over the next year,
with jobs growth rising to 1.9% annually by November 2011.
This sector continues to struggle under the weight of a strong Australian dollar, with
more job losses expected.
Confdence is restored but this is yet to translate into jobs growth. However, with the
banking environment looking more positive, jobs growth is expected to get a boost.
Property and Business Services
This sector is experiencing very strong conditions again and more is expected.
Another solid performance of jobs growth is forecast for this sector.
This is the star performer and will continue to add jobs, achieving a stand-out rate of
17.3% p.a. by the end of the year. With such strong growth, this sector will continue to
have diffculties fnding suitably skilled workers.
